• Data Storage: They take the place of conventional paper-based systems by offering an ordered and structured method of managing and storing huge datasets.
• Data retrieval: Users don't have to spend as much time or effort looking for the information they need because they can easily obtain it.

• The area of the application people interact with is called the user interface, or UI. It offers a mechanism to enter data, retrieve data, and take actions with regard to the data kept in the database.
• Database Management System (DBMS): The database is managed by software, or the DBMS. It manages indexing, security, data retrieval, storage, and other crucial tasks.
